First Canadian Place, one of the tallest skyscrapers in Canada, is where you will find the main reception area for a prestigious law firm, where the 16th floor office has seven Skyfold walls.
Four Skyfold walls were installed when the law firm first occupied the building. As their business grew, their need for more room grew as well. They added three Classic walls to their existing floor plan, allowing them to remain in their original offices while enhancing their flexible space.
Opening all the walls creates a large, open space perfect for company events. When the walls are deployed, thanks to the harmonious mix of fabric and marker board that has been used, there is added functionality to any of the smaller configurations. Skyfold’s STC rating of 51 was instrumental as it ensured that multiple confidential meetings could be held side-by-side. The law firm’s space can now flexibly vary in size to accommodate any type of meeting.
Space Saving:
For many venues, floor space = revenue.
Skyfold walls fold vertically into a ceiling pocket, which means that there is no valuable floor space being taken up by pockets, like on traditional operable walls.
Skyfold walls maximize square footage, making sure that every inch of floor space is used to its fullest.

Acoustics
When deployed, Skyfold provides a double rigid wall and acoustic barrier with acoustic ratings of up to STC 60 (RW 59) for sound isolation, and an NRC/SAC of up to 0.65 for noise reduction.
The standard Skyfold Classic, Zenith, and Zenith Premium operable walls have two independent planes of steel panels separated by a 7″ (170mm) dead air space, creating an anechoic chamber for the best sound isolation.
End Seals
Seals are an integral part of our Classic, Zenith, and Zenith Premium models and are visible when the wall is in the up or down position. They are made of flexible PVC and are available in black or white.
These seals deploy automatically once the walls are fully in the down position. They contribute to the wall’s acoustics and there is no sound or light leakage once they are deployed.
White Seals not available on the Zenith 48 model.
Finishes
Skyfold walls are available in a wide variety of finishes including fabric, vinyl, plastic laminate, markerboard, paint, murals, stainless steel, recycled leather, and wood veneer that can be mixed and matched to suit the client’s design needs.
Only acoustically transparent fabrics can be applied to an NRC panel.
Zenith 48 available in standard fabric, vinyl, paint, and markerboard only.
No Tracks
Skyfold’s Classic, Zenith, and Zenith Premium models don’t require wall or floor tracks. The walls simply require a flat surface to seal against. The room's design integrity is never compromised, as there is no indication that there is an operable wall in the room when it’s tucked away.
Quiet Operation
Skyfold’s system has a completely silent operation allowing spaces to be reconfigured with no disruption of its surroundings. With the operable partitions quietly unfolding from the ceiling, a banquet hall could be created without disturbing a conference going on right next door.
Safety Pressure Sensor
When the operable wall is lowered and the bottom edge comes into firm contact with any object between itself and the floor, the system will automatically stop.
The wall will then automatically reverse its direction and ascend for approximately 3 seconds to clear the object. The regular operation of the wall can resume once the obstruction has been removed.
Touchscreens / Key Switch
The Touchscreen Operator comes standard on the Zenith Premium model and is available as an upgrade to the key switch on all other models.
A four-digit passcode needs to be entered on one of the touchpads and, like the key switch, both touchpads need to be pressed for the wall to begin motion.
The Touchscreen Operator can be programmed in multiple languages and has the capability to control and dim the LED lights on your Skyfold wall.

Seals are an integral part of our Classic, Zenith, and Zenith Premium models and are visible when the wall is in the up or down position. They are made of flexible PVC and are available in black or white.
These seals deploy automatically once the walls are fully in the down position. They contribute to the wall’s acoustics and there is no sound or light leakage once they are deployed.
White Seals not available on the Zenith 48 model.
Finishes
Skyfold walls are available in a wide variety of finishes including fabric, vinyl, plastic laminate, markerboard, paint, murals, stainless steel, recycled leather, and wood veneer that can be mixed and matched to suit the client’s design needs.
Only acoustically transparent fabrics can be applied to an NRC panel.

No Tracks
Skyfold’s Classic, Zenith, and Zenith Premium models don’t require wall or floor tracks. The walls simply require a flat surface to seal against. The room's design integrity is never compromised, as there is no indication that there is an operable wall in the room when it’s tucked away.
Quiet Operation
Skyfold’s system has a completely silent operation allowing spaces to be reconfigured with no disruption of its surroundings. With the operable partitions quietly unfolding from the ceiling, a banquet hall could be created without disturbing a conference going on right next door.
Safety Pressure Sensor
When the operable wall is lowered and the bottom edge comes into firm contact with any object between itself and the floor, the system will automatically stop.
The wall will then automatically reverse its direction and ascend for approximately 3 seconds to clear the object. The regular operation of the wall can resume once the obstruction has been removed.
Touchscreens / Key Switch
The Touchscreen Operator comes standard on the Zenith Premium model and is available as an upgrade to the key switch on all other models.
A four-digit passcode needs to be entered on one of the touchpads and, like the key switch, both touchpads need to be pressed for the wall to begin motion.
The Touchscreen Operator can be programmed in multiple languages and has the capability to control and dim the LED lights on your Skyfold wall.
