The boutique luxury, yet functional concept in Vedanta Resources Limited’s London offices is an exemplar for how acoustical flexible space solutions can add to an interior’s overall design.
The natural resource company worked with Modus Workspace and Style Door Systems to create a flexible, but stylish auditorium that could be adapted easily into smaller or larger meeting rooms that with the versatility to have the whole area open into one grand space.
When deciding on a flexible space solution, Skyfold’s Zenith® became the clear choice. The design concept for Vedanta’s auditorium included an abundance of furniture ranging from the typical desk or conference table to plush sofas, inviting coffee tables and moody lamps. The Zenith’s narrow path of travel meant that the meeting rooms could be easily and discreetly sub-divided or enlarged without the nuisance of having to rearrange heavy furniture.
Traditional acoustic movable walls were placed running along the length of the space to create a hallway of mirrors with pass-through doors leading to individual rooms created by three Skyfold walls to physically and acoustically separate meeting spaces. The bottom rows of the Skyfold walls were given a grooved Corian finish to replicate the ceiling details; when the Zenith walls are stored overhead, the ceiling looks like one uninterrupted continuation. The remaining rows are finished in a camel suede finish to complement the lush textures of Vedanta’s meetings rooms.
